How To Cancel Your NFL Plus Subscription—Steps To Take

The cancellation process depends on how you signed up for NFL Plus. If you’ve registered via the NFL website, you can cancel your subscription by taking these steps:

  1. Go to NFL.com and log in.
  2. Navigate to your Account page.
  3. Click on the arrow next to NFL Subscriptions.
  4. In the Manage Subscriptions section, click on the arrow next to Manage.
  5. Click on the Cancel button.
  6. After receiving the We’re sorry to see you go message, choose one of the reasons for your cancellation and confirm by clicking on Cancel.

Once you terminate your subscription, automatic charges will stop. You’ll have access to NFL Plus’s benefits until the ongoing billing cycle ends.

If you’ve signed up for NFL Plus via Amazon, Google, Apple, or Roku, you’ll need to cancel your subscription on the same platform, adhering to its specific requirements.

Does NFL Plus Issue Refunds?

Canceling the NFL Plus subscription doesn’t imply you’ll get a refund for the current billing period.

NFL Plus may issue a refund in specific cases—if you’ve made a duplicate purchase or are experiencing severe technical problems, but the ultimate decision is based on various factors, including:

  • Purchase type
  • The time that passed between the purchase and the initial refund request
  • The circumstances of the request

It’s best to contact customer support directly to see if you’re eligible for a refund. You can do so via the Chat option in the bottom right corner of the NFL website.

If you purchased NFL Plus via an external app, you must send a refund request through that specific app.

How Virtual Cards Can Help With Subscription Cancellation

The subscription model is becoming the standard for many companies, leaving them to battle for your attention and wallet. In this competitive landscape, some companies might resort to questionable tactics to keep you subscribed, such as making the cancellation process overly complicated. If you’re not vigilant and miss one of many steps, you could end up paying for another month or even a year of services.

While there’s no way to avoid the company’s cancellation procedure, there is one thing you can do to take back control of your funds—use virtual cards. These cards shield your real financial information with random card numbers to protect it from potential misuse. Independent virtual card providers like Privacy also give you access to features that allow you to control how much merchants and subscription services can charge you

The next time you want to purchase a subscription for services like DashPass, Peloton, or Dish Network, among others, do it with virtual cards and prevent sneaky merchants from billing you more than you agreed.

Reduce Subscription Cancellation Friction With Privacy Virtual Cards

Privacy is a virtual card provider offering a secure solution for your online transactions. With Privacy Virtual Cards, you can shop seamlessly while protecting your funds from unwarranted and unauthorized charges.

You have two types of cards at your disposal. Learn more about them in the table below:

Single-Use Card
Merchant-Locked Card
  • You can use it only once.

  • It closes minutes after you complete the first transaction.

  • This card is particularly useful for merchants you’re shopping from for the first time and whose credibility you’re unsure of.

  • You can use it multiple times.

  • It locks to the first merchant you make a purchase at.

  • It’s particularly useful for your favorite merchants and subscription services.

You can set spending limits on your Merchant-Locked Card as well as pause or close it effortlessly without affecting the linked debit card or bank account. Privacy will decline all transactions on the closed or paused card and those that exceed the preset limit. These card controls make Privacy Cards ideal for managing subscriptions because:

  • The pause/close feature allows you to prevent unjustified charges while you go through the company’s lengthy cancellation process
  • Spending limits enable you to prevent any sneaky merchant or subscription service from charging you more than you initially agreed

Privacy—Security and Convenience

Privacy’s benefits don’t stop there. You can also enjoy:

  • Fast and seamless checkouts—The Privacy browser extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, autofills virtual card details at checkout so you don’t have to reach for your wallet each time you shop. The Safari extension also works with iOS, bringing the autofill experience to iPhone and iPad users.
  • Virtual cards on the go—The Privacy mobile app for iOS and Android lets you generate and manage virtual cards wherever you are. You can receive a push notification when your cards are used or declined and detect potentially suspicious activity on time.
